磨耗是球桿最大的殺手/Club face cleaning is key！~上集

球桿不是沒有斷就可以用，而你要讓你的球桿可以用得更長久，就需要在平時或使用時做好維護和保養。這也是我自己對球桿的要求和基本維護。也是這篇文章要和大家分享的重點。球桿的核心在於桿面，它是你擊球的接觸面，也是最容易產生耗損的地方。這也是我要討論的核心。不管是木桿類、鐵桿或推桿都一樣。如果桿面有損傷，就會影響你擊球的結果。

先說球桿的平時保養，我不會把球桿桿頭放在地面，尤其是水泥低或硬的地面。因為這容易對桿頭底部產生磨損。對於桿頭的品相就有不好的影響。不管是練球或下場打球，我用好球桿一定把桿子放回球袋或桿頭朝上放著。因為我過去有太多狀況就是桿子沒有放好，或桿頭朝下，有時會踢到或朋友碰到導致桿子倒掉，會刮傷球桿桿頭和桿身。

用好球桿，一定會把桿套套上。保護好桿頭，避免桿子碰撞和磨損。球袋裡最好要放一支牙刷，用來清潔桿面，尤其是桿面凹槽位置。這是非常重要。因為不管木桿、鐵桿、挖起桿和推桿，如果有凹槽設計，往往用布是很難可以擦到凹槽裡。所以我一定會對桿面凹槽清潔。當然在練習場我是一支桿子打完才會擦拭、清潔保養。

因為練習場如果是有擊球的墊子，自然會比較乾淨，不會有太多的沙土沾上桿面。但如果是下雨天，擊球墊往往會有水氣，打完一球我都會擦拭桿面，把水氣和凹槽清潔。練習場如果是像美國的開放式草皮，就最好每一球打完就要稍微擦拭一下。因為桿頭多少會吃到草和土，不管有沒有沾上，都最好擦拭，因為一個小顆粒，肉眼是看不大到。這都會影響桿面吃球和下場擊球的球。而且刮傷是更心疼。

下場打球，我是一定都是打完一球就擦拭桿面和桿頭。尤其是鐵桿類，吃土一定要用牙刷刷一下桿面凹槽和桿面，然後再擦拭。有些時候，土比較濕或黏，就要用水清潔，才能讓桿面乾淨和清潔。這對於下一擊才能有正常的效能。所以我通常會帶大瓶的水，有時候會需要清潔桿頭。多數球場在球道都會有清潔桿頭的設備。別避免麻煩，清潔是重要的工作。

A playable golf club is based on the performance. It's not evaluated with the club damaged. Most golfers think the golf club is not broken or no damage with playable condition, but in fact, if the golf club can not give you what you expect, it's not a qualified gear for you to perform. In order to provide you a good result, you need to take good care of the clubs.

I used to do easy cleaning and regular maintenance for my golf clubs. It's important to keep up your golf club particularly the golf club head in good condition. The golf club face is the key for making the right performance that needs your work to maintain. I do not put the golf club head on the ground in both golf course and driving range.

When I am done with one golf club, I put it back to the golf bag for the clubs. I have got many experiences that the club heads are on the ground and it falls down with scratch and damage on the head and shaft. Of course, the scratch doesn't hurt on the play but it won't give you good appearance when you try to trade in later for the new gear.

Furthermore, I clean the club face once I make the shot particularly the irons and wedges. Irons and wedges are contacted with the sands, grass and rough all the time, if you do not clean the face and grooves, it won't be able to give you the right fly pattern and performance. That's why I always carry the brush to clean the grooves.

If you don't have the brush to clean, you need to have the towel to clean. If you would like to keep up your performance, it's better to clean the head all the time. No matter you are playing on golf course and driving range, you need to keep up the face clean and good condition in order to get the good result.
