有些球場果嶺，不同區的果嶺速度會不一樣。常常前幾洞在抓果嶺速度感覺，差不多掌握好，推順了，換下9洞，果嶺速度又會又差別。又要重新去抓速度感覺來。但往往都是會變慢。要變快果嶺的保養和質量、草的維護修剪要到位，不然往往前面生龍活虎、後面就一條蟲！

就我的經驗，如果檔次沒有過$3,000的打球費用，要要求果嶺速度基本就是沒門！果嶺速度基本就是參考。頂級球場有辦比賽的球場，或在辦比賽的前後去打，果嶺速度會比較正確。常常我到球場，check in問球場今天果嶺速度，和我實際推的速度是有差。因為我推揚昇的11，怎麼和今天打的球場11不一樣？

所以打球多年下來，我都可以感受不同果嶺速度的差異。多數台灣北部的果嶺速度都低於10，大約在8上下。因為缺乏保養和維護。過度使用，草都會留比較長。這種速度推久，很難進步。因為好球場或國外球場的速度都在9或以上。

在美國的公共球場果嶺速度在9～10左右。私人球場就很屌！保養維護到位，果嶺速度都是至少12起跳。所以推起來很爽！就算大果嶺，用傳統刀背newport推桿都可以距離掌握到位。越好的球場，如果質量到位，對於推擊的掌握就更加明顯，就算推擊桿面開，或關1度2度，都可以知道。所有的細節都可以掌握和瞭解。

當然公共球場也有好的球場，好的球場都需要預約，但偶爾打就能知道球場好在哪？都在細節裡，可以比較和爽到心坎裡。在台北打球，就寧可打好一點的場子，也不想去公園鋤草。一些北部球場，連草種都不是高爾夫用。傷球桿也傷身，也有生命危險！

Some golf courses' greens do not have consistency of the same green speed. It's bad to play such golf course when you are familiar with the green speed then the speed of green is changed in back 9. Since to maintain the consistent green speed needs to dedicate good maintenance with cost. That's why good golf courses are better in the details such as the green speed consistency.

The green fee is key to enjoy good golf. Of course there are good public golf courses with good quality but the green fee is higher than average. That's what you pay for! You certainly can feel the green speed differentiation. As a result, I would like to pay more on green fee for better golf course to build my putting ability.

In Taiwan, particularly in north Taiwan, most of golf courses are over usage on the greens and the green speed is unable to maintain. With my experience, the green speed in northern Taiwan golf courses are around 8 and it's way to slow compared with overseas green speed over 10. That's why it's hard to build your putting experience and skills for less quality of green.

In America, private golf courses the speed of green can be over 12 with good maintenance. With such speed, you have to look all the details during the putting as a small mistake or issue can make you miss the putt. That's why the fast green speed is able to build your putting skills and knowledge.

Playing various golf courses is good for golfers to compare the quality of the golf course. The green design, speed and condition are the key to enjoy the golf. The premium courses sometime can give you more than the money you pay for with all kinds of details and quality upgrade.
