桿身的新舊款真的有差嗎/Is shaft verison really matter for hitting results?～中集

很少桿身的新舊款是一摸一樣，一定會有變化。我過去的經驗是，今年款的和2年前的很類似。會有隔代差異小的狀況，這個狀況我在Matrix桿身有發現過，Fujikura桿身就沒有。基本上Fujikura的Speeder系列每年都出新的，但一定有改變，改變在彈道、桿身強度、手感、桿身折點等。對我來說就是完全不一樣的桿身，只是都叫Speeder，但它們都是有不同年出產，比如speeder I、II、III、IV、V、VI等。

就算同一款式，不同年的型號，多數的桿身廠會在名字上有做一點差異化，比如加tour、加特殊符號+@，等。有時候是在外觀的塗裝會做一些改變，但主體還是保留。比如Matrix/LAGP以前的Red、white、Black系列和TPHD系列。所以你會問我，那是買新款還是舊款？因為價格基本都一樣，可能不同店家的價格有一些差異。

如同上面說的，新舊款基本有性能和手感上的差異，所以以自己使用需求和揮桿方式來選擇。但一個前提是，最好是找桿身材質和強度是以高碳布為主的產品。因為如果這個款式使用高碳布為主，它的新舊款式也都是用高碳布，只是碳布噸位混搭和強度設定位置的比例不同。同時也最好閱讀產品說明來瞭解桿身特性。不要延用前一代的特性到新一代桿身上，因為一定會出錯。

現在科技進步，對於桿身材質的提升有明顯幫助。現在桿身在擊球結果上一定有明顯差別，讓你打起來特別有感。而我上面所說的桿身都是以aftermarket/桿身品牌自售款式，不是球具品牌商的OEM/貼牌的桿身。OEM桿身基本無法和Aftermarket桿身來比較，就價格來說，使用的材質就無法和aftermarket的桿身來比較。

最後，桿身本身對於擊球結果和擊球手感是有絕對的影響。你要你的球飛的高低、球速快和超快、滾動與否、手感變化都是脫不開桿身。桿身新舊款式可以視為完全不同的產品、很多球友喜歡一款桿身，基本都會選購一樣款式，但新舊款不同而已，但如果你要測試不同款式桿身，最好可以實際試打去感受差異，就算是同款，但年份不同，也要試打。不然很容易踩雷！

It's rare for a shaft to stay exactly the same between old and new versions — there's always going to be some kind of change. From my experience, sometimes the current model is quite similar to the one from two years ago. That kind of minimal generational difference does happen — I’ve seen it with Matrix shafts, but not really with Fujikura. Fujikura’s Speeder series comes out with new models every year, and they always tweak something — whether it’s the launch characteristics, shaft stiffness, feel, or the bend profile. So to me, even though they’re all called “Speeder,” each version — like Speeder I, II, III, IV, V, VI, etc. — is basically a completely different shaft.

Even when it’s technically the same model, shaft makers usually add slight differences to the name if it’s a newer year — like adding “Tour,” a symbol, or something like that. Sometimes they just change the cosmetics, like the paint job, while keeping the main structure the same. For example, Matrix (or LAGP) used to have their Red, White, and Black series, and later the TPHD series. So you might ask — should I buy the new version or the old one? The prices are usually about the same, though they might vary depending on the shop.

Like I mentioned, there are definitely performance and feel differences between new and old models, so it really comes down to your swing style and what you’re looking for in a shaft. That said, I always recommend looking for shafts that are primarily made with high-module carbon fiber. If a shaft is designed that way, even the older and newer versions will still use high carbon — the difference will just be in how they mix different carbon tonnages and how they distribute the strength throughout the shaft. It's also a good idea to read the product descriptions carefully to understand each model’s characteristics — don’t just assume the new one feels or performs the same as the last generation. You’ll likely be wrong.

Technology has really advanced, and that’s made a big difference in shaft materials. Newer shafts definitely give you noticeable feedback and performance changes. And just to clarify, I’m talking about aftermarket shafts — the ones sold by shaft brands themselves — not the OEM versions that come stock from club brands. OEM shafts just aren’t in the same league as aftermarket ones, especially in terms of materials and performance, even though they may share similar names.

At the end of the day, the shaft plays a huge role in both how your shots feel and how they perform. Whether it’s launch height, ball speed, spin, roll, or overall feel — it all comes down to the shaft. You can’t treat old and new models as the same — even if they look similar. A lot of golfers like to stick with the same series, but even then, it’s smart to test out the different year versions. Even within the same line, changes from year to year can be significant. If you don’t try them out first, you could end up with something that just doesn’t work for you.
