給我容錯力，其餘免談/Forgiving is king for golf club！~上集

我很早前在我的文章就有說到，現在的球桿就走一個簽王特色：易打/高容錯！而容錯在現在每年新球桿裡就是固定先發。距離雖然也是DNA，但始終焦點還是高容錯上。高容錯的另一個面向就是易打，因為球桿如果做得太難使用，會讓球友或新兵卡關，不玩了。如果你有15年前以上的球桿，你打看看，就可以知道那些桿子說白了，就是自虐工具。

從20年前的球桿就開始逐步走高容錯，以木桿類來說，桿頭從小頭300cc大小到460cc。這樣球友可以更容易打到球，別認為桿頭/桿面變大對使用沒有什麼鳥用，你如果沒有固定每週練球，看你下場敢大聲嗎？那時候桿頭的慣性MOI/moment of inertia， 也不過5000上下，但你看現在Taylormade Qi10、Ping G430 10K到上萬。

Callaway Paradigm AI smoke 也是號稱擊球桿面熱區擴大化，都是把高容錯這個招牌放大極限。我其實這7年來都固定每年用新款木桿來玩，確實非甜蜜點的擊球效果比以前要夢幻多了。距離上從以前會有20～40碼距離短少，現在基本就10~15碼左右。所以是科技讓我開掛了。你能不補充火力嗎！這是事關面子和裡子問題，沒有妥協空間。

另外在非甜蜜點的擊球偏差率，也比以前要好，當然這也要歸功我自己的動作熟練度上，但不可否認桿面在非甜蜜點/方向偏差率上，也有效控制在“10～15”碼範圍。以前可能就直接bye了，現在都可以在樹林或長草見。我這些年用了，Titleist、Ping、Callaway、Taylormade等木桿，都確實在容錯上顯著有提升。掉球和OB狀況少到有點無趣了。

鐵桿類也一樣被附身了，在中空桿頭上，容錯就是最好代表。中空桿頭設計是和木桿類一樣，都是主體和桿面，2個零件組合而成。所以可以將桿面和主體的設計成，兼具性能和易打/高容錯的特性。所以我從15年前就沒有在用鍛造鐵桿了，都改成中空桿頭配碳纖維桿身。這樣的好處；就是性能、手感和容錯都是滿格。

Nowadays golf club development is heading to one single feature; forgiving! I mentioned that in my past articles over a decade ago. Of course distance is playing critical for average golfer but to allow golfers to enjoy the game, the golf club needs to be very forgiving since golfers do not practice a lot and have a right swing.

If you try 15 years ago golf clubs such as drivers or irons, you would know what I am saying. The forgiving plays extremely important for golf clubs particularly woods. in 2024, the newe drivers from Callaway, Taylormade, Ping they are launching the new drivers with over 10k MOI/moment of inertia feature that tell you its the maximum forgiving in the history.

The Callaway and Taylormade new drivers AI smoke and Qi10 give golfers off sweet spot better results and distance without losing the performance. What! That's the gift since most of average golfers are unable to strike the ball on the sweet spot and if you can't strike on the sweet spot, you can't get the best distance, period.

I have been purchasing the new drivers every year since 2016, the off sweet spot results slightly different with striking the sweet spot. If I play 20 year ago driver, the off sweet spot would give you big slice or hook, but I play recent 3 years drivers, I can get the result off the target 10 to 15 yards. Is it amazing!

It's really the benefit from the technology and material improvement. The forgiving feature is not only the woods but the irons as well. If you check the irons with hollow body, it's the same design as woods. There is main body and face two pieces for the head instead of one single piece of forged with extremely hard to play.
