挖起桿的長度最好可以比較短一點/About wedge length！~上集

今天再來分享我個人的私房觀念。對挖起桿來說，多數的球友用的長度大致和你的P桿差不多。如果你用市售的挖起桿大致都在36“上下0.25”範圍。這樣的長度對於你在短桿使用和打出來的高度都會有影響。這也是我這次要討論的重點。

因為很多人都把挖起桿的使用和購買重點，放在桿頭材質、角度/反彈角、和凹槽。但其實對於長度也是非常重要。它直接影響你打出去的結果和彈道。我個人在挖起桿的設定長度從以前到現在都在35～35.4”範圍。用起來不管是全揮桿或是半揮桿，短切，都是非常順手也容易控制彈道高度。重點是能停球！

我們要瞭解挖起桿的核心目標；就是要“打準”，更重要是球要“能停”。所以要讓打出去的球可以停，減少滾動，就必須要讓擊球可以打得高和產生高倒旋。我以前對於挖起桿的長度，從36“～34.5”都有用過。對於挖起桿來說；可以控制在35.5“和以下的結果是最好。過長的桿子不容易吃球紮實！

考慮到目前挖起桿的桿頭重量，對於超過35.5"的話，球桿的重量感就會不平均。這有兩個部分，一個是市售款的挖起桿桿頭重量都會比較輕，所以挖起桿長度都需要做超過35.5"以上，才能得到比較適合使用的重量感。但對於使用就容易吃球較淺的狀況。

如果你的挖起桿是日系小廠的產品，這類的桿頭重量也是比較重，也是比較適合做長度在35.5"和以下。所以你需要知道你的挖起桿的產品是屬於哪一種？才能瞭解你的適合長度。當然如果你用美系市售挖起桿的話，可以在桿身前端加重量，讓長度可以做到35.5“。

Let me share my personal clubfitting idea on wedge. For most of golfers, your wedge length is similar with your Pitch iron that is around 36" +- 0.25". Are you able to deliver the high trajectory and spin rate with such length on wedge? It's important factor for golfers to have a good control on the wedge in order to deliver the good performance.

Most people focus on the wedge purchases on club head, loft/bounce and groove design. However, to me the length is critical as well that is related with the trajectory and spin rate you are going to deliver. With my personal experience and usage, I have been using wedge length from 36" to 34.5" and the best result of the performance and control are the length within 35.5".

As the shorter wedge length is able to help me eat the ball solidly and generate the best spin rate/friction. People are all different with your body sharp and condition, the better fit on the length is important to help you handle all kinds of shots with better result.

The goals of wedge are accuracy and drop and stop! Therefore, to allow the ball can stop after landing on the green is critical task. With current off the rock wedges, the head weight is light so it needs to make the length longer to fit tall people. If you are tall like professional golfers, it's good for you to play. But if you don't have good body, you need to make it short for better usage and control.

With Japanese small golf club brands, their forged wedge heads are generally heavier than US brands wedges. Since Asian golfers are not as tall as American, and the heavier wedge head weight is good for making the wedge length within 35.5". That's why it's good to use Japan forged wedge heads to custom build the personal wedge as I am able to adjust the right length for most of golfers.
