為什麼要做短才會比較好打和增加倒旋和彈道？你可以去比較用37”的鐵桿和35“的挖起桿使用？同時因為長度變短後，你在桿面和球接觸的角度和吃球的紮實度都會比較好。就在於你吃球的深和淺的問題上！核心在於球桿長度越長，你的身體和上半身，不容易讓桿面吃球更好，吃球角度無法更大更深。

尤其多數球友都是用手在打，下桿手臂主導比較多，所以當桿子長度越長，就對手臂和球桿吃球效果無法得到最好的出球角度。手臂需要將就球桿長度，就只能吃球在桿面的前緣，球就出去了，更不用說倒旋的效果不會太大。而挖起桿的使用關鍵，就在彈道和倒旋，如果你的吃球效果不猛，球如何可以停下來？

短長度的挖起桿可以確保你吃球比較深，更容易把球帶高起來。我有時候會看到球友使用挖起桿會刻意握短，但桿子的本質不變，握短還是會對你的身體產生幹擾。一勞永逸的做法就是做短後，讓你的使用不會對你的身體產生干擾或影響。而更容易讓桿頭發揮更好。
