一般來說，大品牌的球款都已經做的不錯。和球桿一樣，差異性不會大，只是在細節上的表現會有差異。而這些差異就是各家品牌的技術、絕活和對品質的要求。就和球桿一樣，你打中甜蜜點它的效果會最好，幾乎所有的球桿都大同小異。而我觀察球桿也好或球也罷，關鍵好壞都集中在效率問題和非甜蜜點的結果。

首先，產品在USGA的規定下，都會有一個上限。而幾乎所有球桿都可以達到那個上限。上限就是你打到甜蜜點的結果。這沒有問題，而效率在於“細節”，比如球速、倒旋量、飛行距離和滾動距離等數據表現。因為當你打的每一球不可能都打到桿面甜蜜點，而球如何飛的有效率和最佳化其實就是我們要在意的事。

我最近一系列測試很多不同品牌的不同款式球，如果打到甜蜜點，總距離是大同小異。但其實還是會有一點差別。就算打到甜蜜點和沒有打到甜蜜點，得到的細節就是有差。因為我對球桿和動作都有瞭解，所以可以分析出比較細節的差異。而從差異去找出產品的問題和設計缺陷。當然生產的品質和對精度要求就會影響到最後產品的性能和質量！

一個好的球款或球桿都一樣。就是它的飛行表現都要很“穩定”。也就是說，不管打到甜蜜點與否，飛行的結果和數據都要很穩定。也就是說，產品的品質好，同時它的設計和技術都到位，可以有非常穩定的表現。比如打到甜蜜點的距離就是那樣，而非甜蜜點的距離就是在一個範圍，不會落差太大和忽高忽低的結果。

而這就是硬功夫和硬道理。你如果生產製造是得過且過，差不多就好，那產品的品質和穩定性就可能忽高忽低。不管是高價或低價產品，生產品質如果不在乎，產品表現的結果就是好壞落差大的狀況。這點在我測試的球裡都得到印證了。Titleist是高爾夫球的一哥，這不只是球友們的印象，同時也是製造商的目標。

因為它們的球打起來，不管手感、效能和穩定性都是最好。不只是在它們旗艦Pro V1/V1x，其他款式的球一樣都是如此。球的表漆和觸感都是高級球感覺，不會因為你的球款價格就有差異。而且它們是唯一一家球的產品都是自家生產製造。沒有假手他人！所以它們的產品得到的結果和穩定性都是最好。就我自己是一個製造商的角度來說，它就是標竿！

Generally speaking, the major golf equipment brands have done the great job on golf clubs and golf balls. With my experience and testing, their performances and quality are not bad with striking on the sweet spot of the club face. The results on the distances are pretty much similar since there are the rules from USGA in both golf balls and golf clubs.

However, the key is the off sweet spot performance and results that you need evaluate. Why it's so important to understand the result and performance from off sweet spot hits? Because we are not professional golfers with tons of time and energy to practice the golf swing, body work out and practical experience. That's why we hit the off sweet spot so frequently and it needs to be consistent in order to know how to and where to target?

For me it's critical to know the product's off sweet spot performances and results. When you are setting up your strategy on the tee box or the second shot to the green, you will make the right decision with the right golf club. There are some golf balls or golf clubs are inconsistent on off sweet spot performances. This way you are unable to know if I don't strike on the right spot, the result might be unpredictable.

Therefore, the consistency of the product is the key! How do we know products' consistency?It's from the details of your performances such as the spin rate, side spins, launch angle, carry distance and rolling.. If the product manufacturing is well controlled and managed, its quality control will be high standard. This will be reflected to the product's quality and performance.

Titleist is the only golf ball maker who owns, operates and manufactures the golf balls with all kinds of the balls. We all know Titleist is the number one golf ball, but it's their quality, standard and requirements for the balls. Other brands already outsources the ball to Taiwan and Korea. In house manufacturing is able to control better on the quality and development.

The Titleist golf balls are very consistent on performance and feel. That's why I look up Titleist as the best ball maker based on the manufacturing stand point. When I test various golf balls, Titleist ball is always the base line to compare. Once you compare the details of the data, you know the truth such as the flighting is not consistency and rolling is short. I am able to know it's golf core or golf core issues?
